The infant rooms provide gentle and loving care for your little one. We know how difficult it is for parents to be away which is why we have a completely open door policy! We encourage parents to email, call and stop in as many times as they need so that they feel comfortable. We understand that your child is your number one priority and we strive to meet your needs so that you feel safe and secure. During your child’s time in the infant rooms, we will first and foremost focus on meeting all of their needs by nurturing and loving them based on their personal schedule. Additionally, your child will receive a daily sheet outlining their entire day’s activities. Your child will engage in activities such as: Three art projects each month, introduction to sign language, developmentally appropriate large and small gross motor activities, sensory activities, as well as time outside as weather permits.
The baby rooms are both licensed for 8 children, 1:4 ratio.
A big focus of a child’s time in the toddler rooms is to begin transitioning to the "classroom schedule.” During this time, your child will work on moving to one nap a day, sleeping on cots, and using silverware and plates. As your child progresses through the toddler rooms, he or she will begin focusing on more age appropriate activities in a safe environment, such as: Sitting down for group time, participating in at least one art or sensory activity per day, using words and beginning to start talking in sentences, continuing exploration with sign language, an early introduction to potty training (18 months and older), developing large motor skills by playing outside and in the gym, going on walks outside, and using our imagination while free playing in the classroom. We understand that these children are still very young and we work hard to meet all of their personal security and emotional needs.
These toddler rooms are both licensed for 8 children, 1:4 ratio.
At this age, children are working on becoming more independent. A few examples would be: Getting socks/shoes/coat on with little help, starting to potty train, using our verbal communication as much as possible, following multiple-step directions, developing friendships and self-confidence through our daily routines, as well as practicing self-help skills. Much of the time in these rooms is spent engaging in imagination play, sensory, art, reading many books, participating in group time, and reciting finger plays and rhymes. We enjoy watching their personalities blossom over these essential years.
These toddler rooms are licensed for 12-16 children, ratio ranging between 1:6-1:10.
In our younger preschool room, we are already laying the groundwork for preparing these young minds for RF4C. Throughout the day we are encouraging learning, development and social interactions. These can be achieved through language development, letter and sound recognition, shapes, colors, counting, sign language, basic Spanish, creative art, problem solving, weather and calendar. We firmly believe in the importance of learning through play and encourage kids to be kids! We follow the Creative Curriculum which allows for each child to learn based on personal interests and to achieve at his/her own pace.
This preschool room is licensed for 20 children, ratio 1:10.
We are excited to welcome you and your child into the RF4C (4K Program)! We plan our curriculum around the district’s Teaching Strategies Assessments and PALS Preschool Screening. Our goal is to use these assessments to better prepare you and your child for their Kindergarten experience.
Students are assessed in the Fall and Spring each year. The assessments focus on letter recognition and letter sounds, writing skills, rhyming, story comprehension, counting and number recognition, patterns, and memory and classification skills. These skills and ideas are introduced and monitored through large and small group activities and games. Although academics are a significant part of our planning and teaching, we believe children should learn in a welcoming play-based learning environment. Each child that enters our classroom has their own unique personality and needs. We strive to not only give the best care, but provide an opportunity for children to explore and learn through their own experiences.
The RF4C rooms are licensed for 22 children, ratio is 1:12.
